The Central Reference Laboratory of the Iran University of Science and Technology officially began its activities in October, 2014. The existence of centers that serve as reference for the analysis and identification of materials and products can be considered as prerequisites for universities and industries in the country. Fortunately, at the Iran University of Science and Technology after many years of efforts, this laboratory has been formed and started its activities. The value of such laboratories depends not only on the quality of the equipment in it, but also on the expertise of the experts with whom it is involved. In this regard, the presence of experts and professors at the Iran University of Science and Technology can be a great support for this lab. The purpose of the establishment of this laboratory is not only to provide standard services to the University of Science and Technology of Iran, but also to all research and research centers throughout Iran in accordance with the rules and regulations.
The goal of the establishment of this laboratory is to collect the latest and most advanced devices used in various university engineering disciplines and applications complying with all international standards. Considering the leadership of the Supreme Leader on the link between the university and the industry, it is attempted to take an effective step towards achieving this ambitious goal by providing the most accurate laboratory services to both academic and industrial researchers. During this short period of time, the laboratory provided appropriate services to the Iranian scientific community.
Until now, STAs, atomic force microscopes (AFMs), special surface area measurements (BETs), universal fatigue testing (compression tension), electrochemical test, gas , membrane electrical conductivity, and portable spectrometers with the ability to identify three elements, K, U, Th, have been developed for this laboratory. In the future, the lab will also be equipped with high-tech devices such as the FE-SEM electron microscope, the XRD X-ray diffraction device. I hope that the establishment and development of this laboratory will be an effective contribution to the promotion of the scientific status of the country.
