Saleh-hamid bridge is one of the oldest masonry arch bridges in Iranian railway bridge asset. The construction of the bridge took place by COMPSAX consortium in 1935, and has since been operational. The bridge consists of unreinforced masonry blocks, and is situated in a curved section of track with two radius of 300 and 450 meters. It consists of seven spans of 10m, one long span of 40m, and two spans of 21m, with a total length of 200 meters. Due to long service life of the structure and possible deterioration of material, structural assessment of the bridge is carried out by visual inspection, material tests, and dynamic load tests. Moreover, a 3D finite element model of the bridge is developed, which allows for studying the possibility of increasing the axle load of the bridge.
