In this meeting which was held on Wednesday, Oct 5th with attendance of international scientific cooperation office manager, public relation manager, and Dr. Ashrafizadeh; both parties discussed their areas of interest after introducing their capabilities. After reviewing areas of cooperation, required actions by each party was coordinated.

A group of Curtin University board visited research laboratories and facilities of department on Sunday September 4th. The presence of head of oil and gas engineering group of Curtin University and his specific attention to the background of faculty regarding oil and gas engineering and specifically Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) was impressive and notable.

With support of sustainable development office “National Conference on Sustainable Development in Energy, Water and Environmental Engineering Systems” will be held in February 2017.

The experts from PIGNAT, a French company, who is in design and building of pilot plants, in a speech for board and PhD candidates on Oct 3rd, discussed their activities and experiences in building pilots for different chemical processes.

Third National Conference on Fluid flow measurement in oil, gas, refining, petrochemical and water industries will be held in Iran University of Science and Technology from Dec 7th for 2 days.

Prof. S.N. Ashrafizadeh appointed as deputy of research on September 17th with Dr Barkhordari’s approval, Chancellor of university. He has been working in this department since 1996 and has been appointed for several duties so far.

With approval of board of trustees and agreement of chancellor of university, name of ‘’school of chemical engineering’’ changed to ‘’school of chemical, Petroleum and gas engineering’’

Prof. Farzaneh Feyzi, faculty member of ’school of chemical, oil and gas engineering, was nominated as one of the 50 outstanding alumni of University of Sharif.

We are pleased to inform that Dr Fereshteh Naimpour, a faculty member of chemical engineering department, is promoted to the associate professor rank on Mehr 14th 1393.

   Chemical engineering department of IUST intends to hold a gathering for all chemical engineering alumni from all graduation years. The goal of the gathering is to provide a chance for alumni from different graduation years to socialize and meet each other and to make potential connections between the department and alumni.

    Chemical engineering department of IUST is going to admit perspective graduate students for 1393 academic year under Pardis program. The goal of the program is to train engineers with different industrial expertise.

The third animation race has been held alongside the fifth national CFD conference in chemical and petroleum industries. The animation entitled “CFD simulation of potassium nitrate MSMPR crystallizer” by Mr Amir Heidari, Mr Soren Norouzi, Dr Mansour Shirvari and Dr Seyyed Hassan Hashemabadi from the Iran University of Technology has been selected as the best animation and a memorial is awarded to all team members.

Dr Seyyed Mojtaba Mirferendeski’s doctoral dissertation from chemical engineering department of IUST has been ranked the 3rd of the best doctoral dissertation in the second national symposium of best dissertation.

Dr Barkhordari, president of the Iran University of Science and Technology, has appointed Dr Feizi as the deputy education of chemical engineering department from July 5th 2014 for 2 years.

 Dr Allahverdi’s paper has been ranked the 10th best paper among top 25 papers published in Cement and Concrete Composite JournalCement and Concret  Composite 

According to the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy download and citation history, Dr Roshanzamir’s paper has been ranked the 6th most cited paper and the 3rd most downloaded paper within the last 5 yearsInternational Journal of Hydrogen Energy

 Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering has selected Dr Ashrafizaheh, Mrs Elaheh Motaie and Mr Vahid Houshyargar’s paper entitled “Emulsification of heavy crude oil in water by natural surfactants” as one of top 25 papers published in the journal in 2012Petroleum Science and Engineering

  Iran University of Science and Technology with the cooperation of the Iranian Community of Chemical Engineering will hold the 3rd National conference about the use of CFD in chemical industries in May 2011. It is worth mentioning that at the time of the conference, there would be a competition to select the best animation, which has been done by the use of CFD simulation.  

 According to Jahad Daneshgahi publication Report- In the closing ceremonies of the 14th festival of the student thesis of Engineering Departments, the jury selected the thesis of Mr.Abdol Hamid Salahi. as the best thesis in M.sc. level.   The title of his thesis was "Experimental investigation of oily wastewater treatment in polymer basis membrane hybrid systems"   It was supervised by Dr Touraj Mohammai.  

  Majid Hayati Ashtiani (Ph.D. student of Chemical Engineering) will defend his Ph.D. thesis in khordad 30th of 1389. The title of his thesis is "Study and Preparation of Pillard Activited Bentonit and Its Application for Remmoval of Heavy Metals"   supervised by the late Dr.Seyed Hamid Jazayeri and Dr. Seyed Nezamo dinn Ashrafi Zadeh.    

  Miss Maryam Haghigh (Ph.D. student of chemical Engineering) will defend her Ph.D. thesis in Shahrivar 6th of 1389. The title of her thesis is"Local Thermal Non-Equilibrium Modelling and Simulation of Foam Heat Exchangers"   supervised by Dr. Nourollah Kasiri .

  13th national congress of chemical engineering and the first regional congress of chemical and petroleum engineering is going to be hold from 25-28 Oct 2010 in Kermanshah. Before the conference, the instructional workshops will be held.

 Mr Seyyed Mohtada Sadrzadeh (Chemical engineering PhD candidate in the Separation processes group) made a final oral presentation of his dissertation before the members of his dissertation examination committee on October 19th 2009. His dissertation is titled “Development of a polymer membrane for the recovery of LPG from a refinery’s fuel gas stream”, and he has been supervised by Dr Toraj Mohammedi.

In the final stage of the nation’s scientific student Olympiad for chemical engineers, Miss Sara Heidari and Mr Nima Ramezani Nokolaie who are currently students of Chemical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology stood at the eighth and sixteenth rankings

 The School of Chemical Engineering is to hold seminars on the Fundamentals of CFD, Introduction to Chemical Process Simulation using the Fluent software

 The PhD Dissertation oral examination for Mr Javad Ivakpur was held on Tuesday 14th of June at 4 pm in the School of Chemical Engineering Room 3. His thesis is titled “ Development of a novel model for optimized distillation column sequencing for non-ideal separations”, and has been supervised by Dr Nurollah Kasiri
