Applied Mathematics GroupThe study of applied mathematics integrates mathematical ideas and methods into several branches of science and engineering. The objective of applied mathematics research is to create new and useful mathematics that are motivated by applications, in addition to applying current mathematical tools and insights to address scientific issues. With the development of new computing technologies, applied mathematics has evolved beyond its conventional form and is now more significant and crucial than ever. Although its multidisciplinary aspect is essential to its success in contemporary science and technology, applied mathematics differs from the domains to which it is related due to its particular goal. The applied mathematician is more interested in problems that arise from other areas than the pure mathematician is. They focus more on how problems are formulated and the characteristics of solutions than engineers and physicists. They are more focused on the interpretation of findings and the correctness of approximations than computer scientists are. Even in this era of specialization, mathematicians, physicists, and engineers frequently do the same types of work. Due to its nature, applied mathematics has assumed a prominent role in this interaction and continues to be an area of interest and excitement for bright minds.
