ی On 16th of Dec 2014 as the national day of "technological research and scientific diplomacy" a conference was held with the attendance of selected universities’ international Directors and Deputy Minister for International Affairs and Head of International Scientific Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, as well as Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Iranians Abroad Affairs in the conference hall of the Council.

On November 14th ,2014 EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS has elected Dr.Ali Kaveh from Iran University of Science and Technology Department of Civil Engineering to become an Active Member of Class VI – Technical Sciences.

4th International Conference on “Acoustics and Vibration (ISAV2014)” will be held in School of Mechanical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology on Dec. 10, 2014 for two days.

According to the National Taiwan University ranking, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) upgraded 19 places and ranked as 193rd among the world's top 500 universities in the field of Engineering.

On Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19, 2014 2nd International Conference on “Urbanism & Spatial Mobility” was held in IUST. The conference was Organized by Engineering Analysis of Spatial Arrangement Factors (EASAF) Research Laboratory , School of Architecture, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Ingénierie du Projet d’Aménagement - Paysage et Environnement (IPAPE), Ecole Polytechnique d’Aménagement, Univ. On Monday, September 15, 2014 a high ranked delegation from Germany visited Iran University of Science and Technology. A Delegation headed by Prof Suleyman Tanyolac dean of the School of Engineering and Professor Ilhan Kocaarslan, Director of the Automation Railway Energy (ARE) Research Center of Istanbul University visited the School of Railway Engineering on June 8, 2014.

A delegation of authorities including Head of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Railway visited the School of Railway Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology on Monday June 23, 2014. The visit held in the conference hall of the School with the presence of the Dean and faculty members.

  With the coordination made by the Office of International and Scientific Cooperation a delegation from University of Malaya, Malaysia, including Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef, acting deputy dean (higher degree) of faculty of engineering, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Moghavvemi, professor of department of electrical engineering, and Mrs. Shahzatul Ermiza Johol, assistant registrar of University of Malaya visited Iran University of Science and Technology on Aug. 26, 2013 to discuss mutual interests.

 Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) has ranked Iran University of Science and Technology as the country's third industrial university.

 Iran University of Science and Technology officials met with Dr. Ali Mohammad Mousavi, head of Developing 8 (D-8) and Dr. E. Afshari, head of Multilateral Economic Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday July 7, 2013. The purpose of this visit was to discuss increasing scientific, research and technology cooperation among universities of the eight Islamic countries.

 The Neural Engineering Research Center has been established at Iran University of Science and Technology. This news came after the center received approval from the office of Higher Education Council. This center will begin its activities in the following three groups:

Iran University of Science and Technology has succeeded in establishing the School of New Sciences and Technologies. The news came after the Higher Education Council validated the school. This school will be accepting students for the Fall 2013 semester, and will be offering two concentrations in Nuclear Physics and Energy Systems Engineering (energy and the environment).

 The gas turbines research facility opened on Tuesday May 28, 2013 in Iran University of Science and Technology. The MOU for establishing the gas turbines research facility was signed during the First National Conference on Gas Turbines, held last year May 2012.

Wednesday May 15, 2013 in Geneva, Swiss, Iran University of Science and Technology held a thematic workshop on the role of the IT industry in gross domestic production, with a focus on central challenges and future horizons in the current global financial crisis.

An MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between UNESCO's University-Industry seat and the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company was signed Sunday May 19, 2013 in IUST's Automotive Research Center.

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Islamic Republic of Iran's Railway Company, Isfahan's Steel Company, and Iran University of Science and Technology during the third International Conference on Recent Advances in Railway Engineering. Among those present include deputies of the Roads and Urban Development and the Mine and Trade Industry. .

 Opening ceremony of the Movement Festival was held on Monday and Tuesday May 12-13, 2013 with the presences of Dr. Jabal Ameli, IUST chancellor, Hojjatol Islam Ibrahimi Nezhad, chair to the Office of the Supreme Leader at IUST, and Dr. Khalaj, vice chancellor of Cultural Studies, in IUST's open amphitheatre.

 On April 30th and May 1st 2013 Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) hosted the third international conference aimed at recent advances in Railway Engineering (ICRARE).

Iran University of Science and Technology showed its active presence in the exhibition by presenting 9 completed research projects conducted in 2012, and by the participation of IUST faculty in specialized conferences..

The eighth Iran Open 2013 International RoboCup competitions were held April 5-7 in Tehran's international convention center. 390 teams from 14 countries participated in the competitions. Two teams from IUST's School of Computer Engineering won first and second place in two Small Size Robot Soccer Leagues, and in the 2D Soccer Simulation League .

March 10, 2013—Sunday a group of IUST students and staff held demonstrations against the recent killings of Shiite Muslims in Pakistan.  Representative of Iran's Supreme Leadership office at IUST, Hojjatol-Islam Ibrahimi Nejad condemned the acts of the violent militant group in Pakistan, "whom", he argued, "hold the belief that anyone who disagrees with their beliefs is a non-believer."

2 March 2012 – A delegation from the National University of Singapore, including Tan Tiow Seng, PhD. Associate Professor Assistant Dean met with Iran University of Science and Technology's Dr. Farzam Farbiz, faculty from the School of Engineering on Monday February 25, 2013 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding connecting the two universities in an international agreement.

March 2, 2013—On February 23, 2013 the National Steel Bridge Competition took place at Tehran's Islamic Azad University. Twenty four teams, including IUST's Civil Engineering students, competed in fields including, 1-Stiffness, 2-Construction Economy, 3- Construction Speed, 4- Structural Efficiency, and 5- Architectural Excellence according to the Association of Steel Structures

February 18, 2013 – The first National Conference for Transport Infrastructures was held February 12-13, 2013 at the Iran University Science and Technology.

 18 February 2013 --The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Lab opened at Iran University of Science and Technology's Green Research Center on February 12, 2013, corresponding, the opening ceremony of other hydrogen and fuel cell laboratories in Amir Kabir, Shiraz, Shahid Rajaee, Rafsanjan, and Babol universities. Dr. Nasrin Soltankhah, vice president of research and technology, made the opening remarks in this ceremony.

 The organizing of a second Resistant Economy Conference, with a focus on energy will take place on February 14, 2013 at Iran University of Science and Technology's Shahid Bahrami Hall.

December 16, 2012 marks the visit of Dr. Nasrin Soltankhah's, Vice President of Research and Technology, visit to Iran University of Science and Technology during its research week to observe the latest technological advances of IUST.

 The first national electromagnetic conference in Iran was held at IUST's School of Electrical Engineering Wednesday morning December 26, 2012, and continued until Thursday. .

SIR (SCIMAGO Institutions Ranking) has published its 2012 annual rankings report. According to the 2012 SIR report, Iran University of Science and Technology was promoted from its rank of 774 in 2011 to 667 in 2012.  

The invention of the “Electrically Conductive Polymeric Composite Material” by Prof. Mahmood Mehrdad Shokrieh, Ali Naghashpour, and Saber Mirzaee was patented with the serial number US 8,105,505 B2 by the United States Patent. .

 On November 12, 2012 a ceremony was held in honor of the top 2011 IUST students in the Shahid Bahrami Amphitheatre. The university chancellor Dr. Jabal Ameli spoke at this ceremony, which took place with the efforts of the vice chancellery of education, public relations, top students and their families.

Following releasing of an offensive film and insulting the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), the students and academicians of Iran University of Science and Technology hold a protesting gathering after the noon Prayer on September 16, 2012.

On Oct. 3, 2012 a delegation from Ajou University, South Korea, headed by Professor Hanjo Lim Vice President of the Ajou University and Dean of the graduate study, visited Iran University of Science and Technology to discuss on mutual interests.

The SAR laboratory, part of the Afagh Research Center at Iran University of Science and Technology is currently the main center of many standardized testing for electromagnetic health, specifically the effects of devices, such as cellphones, on the brain. This laboratory is growing rapidly.

  On Sunday, September 17 and with the presence of the Administrative Board, and faculty members of IUST at the Imam Khomeini Cultural Complex, the new academic year 2012-13 was officially started.

Iran University of Science and Technology is proud to have advanced its research in the design and build of the nation’s Advanced High Speed Rail Systems. IUST’s schools of Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials and Metallurgy, and Industrial Engineering have had significant roles in the execution of this national project.

Photonic and Optoelectronic laboratory at the physics department of IUST have undergone many researches in the areas of designing, manufacturing, and testing optoelectronic systems, such as optical telecommunications, Adaptive optics, and so on. The IUST Photonic and Optoelectronic laboratory is among Iran’s most important asset s, and their missions are to establish strong technological, industrial, and military systems.

Iran University of Science and Technology’s accredited professors within various fields, including Computer Engineering and Electric Engineering, have had major accomplishments in the country’s cyber security, aimed at protecting the country’s cyber borders and technology centers.

    In the country’s forty third Vice Chancellor Conference, with the presence of Dr. Naderi Manesh, vice chancellor to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Dr. Mohammad Fathian was selected country’s top vice chancellor.

University officials including vice-chancellor Dr. Fathian, and head of the International Scientific Cooperation, Dr. Khorramishad participated in the two day conference “Teaching Excellence in the Islamic World: Challenges and Opportunities,” which was held on June 11th and 12th, 2012 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

   University officials handed appreciation awards on Tuesday afternoon, July third 2012, to Dr. Cheldawi, for achieving the country’s Best Professor award back in May 2012. This event took place in the faculty lounge after a meeting with the university officials.

 Dr. Rahimi, Dean to the Department of Chemistry, was recognized for his article entitled “Application of Tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin Functionalized MCM- For Removal of Heavy Metal Ion from Water 48”. This event was hosted by the city of Arak on June of 2012.  

 Graduate students from the School of Mathematics at IUST achieved second place in the country's research operations competition.

On Monday, May 28, 2012, the university recognized three of its faculty members in the field of Electromagnetic, School of Electric Engineering. Dr. Farrokh Hojjat Kashani, Dr. Mohammad Soleimani, and Dr. Homayoun Oreizi were recognized in a ceremony attended by faculty, students, and alumni specifically in the field of Electromagnetic.

 The first conference about a resistant economy took place on Thursday, the 17th of May 2012 with the presence of Iranian officials and representatives, in Iran University of Science and Technology’s Shahid Bahrami conference room.

twenty second Professor Recognition ceremony, Professor Ahmad Cheldavii, Electrical Engineering faculty, was awarded the 2011 Top Professor award. The ceremony held Saturday, May 20, 2012, took place with the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Minister of Science, Research and Technology.

  On Wednesday May 15,2012 Iran University of Science and Technology and the institute of Information Technology were given the 2012 International Information Society Geneva Swiss award (WSIS).

 The committee of higher education has introduced a masters degree in the field of Science and Nanotechnology (Nanochemistry) in Iran University of Science and Technology.

The inauguration of UNESCO seats in areas of “cooperation between industry and academia for further sustainable advancement” was held on Monday, April 30,2012 in the automotive research center of Iran University of Science and Technology.

 The first public conference on gas-run turbines was held on Wednesday, the thirteenth of Ordibehesht, 1391,at the Imam Khomeini (RA) conference room. Many attended including Iran University of Science and Technology’s chancellor, head of the industrial aeronauticsdepartment, minister of science, research and technology, head and research division for the Public Gas company, and a number of professors and expertmechanical engineers.

 A ceremony to show gratitude and appreciation to current and 1390 retired professors of Iran University of Science and Technology was held on Monday the 11th of Ordibehesht 1391 in the Imam Khomeini (RA) cultural complex, with the attendance of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology,administrative staff, and faculty members.  

16th cultural session proposed for the university faculty members was held with the speeches of Dr. Mehdi Golshani, a member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution.

One of the IUST Technology Incubator units won the 2nd prize in the Robotdalen Innovation Award 2012, Sweden.Mohammad Reza Ghahramani ’s innovation entitled “Non-Electrical Robot for Inspection and Rehabilitation Hazardous Installation”is the winner of the second prize on February 9,2012.

  On February third, 2012, Navide-Elm-va-Sanat Satellite launched successfully into orbit by Safir satellite launcher. The satellite was launched on the third day of the auspicious Ten Day Dawn and the National Day of Space Technology by the order of Iran President.

Iran University of Science and Technology gained the agreement in principle from the country’s “Council of Scientific Centers of Excellence” for establishing of seven centers of excellence in science and technology, to be initiated in the third series of the activities of the country’s centers of excellence.

 On 17, 2011, an MoU was concluded between “University Consortium Management” with IUST as the main party and “ Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO)” on a new national platform for class B automobiles..

On Dec. 20, 2011, Professor. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Director of Research and Graduate Policy at Sabanci University of Turkey presented a lecture titled “the Role of Universities in the Research- Technology Development- Innovation Processes of Industries” at IUST. .

In the “12th Distinguished Researchers and Technologists Award”,  Dr. Mohsen Feizi, the faculty member at the School of Architecture and Environmental Design at IUST was selected as the  country’s eminent researcher in the Art Group by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology..
