Department of Satellite Engineering
Satellites have become necessary tools for the monitoring of the environment, meteorology, communication and navigation, amongst other applications. For the design, construction and application of satellites, knowledge within several different technical fields is required.
At present, Iran University of Science and Technology is one of the Colleges in the country that educates Masters Candidates within the field of Satellite engineering. The Masters course spans 2 years and comprise individual subjects, projects and a final thesis. The course presents characteristic subsystems, such as power, structure, communication and control, and analyzes the engineering trades necessary to integrate subsystems successfully into a satellite. The aim of these educational courses is to train the students for working in the planning, management, design, analysis and implementation of the communication satellite project, satellite constellation and other satellite research for replying the technical demands in the country.
During the course of two exciting and interesting years the students will get the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical education within a field that has no boundaries. This is through lecturing by highly qualified staff and to a substantial extent, problem-based learning. Iran University of Science and Technology collaborates with Iran Space Agency and Iranian Cyberspace Research Institute. The Satellite Engineering courses focuses on being research-based and practical.
