Karbandi is one of the original and ancient arched elements in Persian architecture which is formed based on a network with harmonic geometry and in addition to architectural function, it also has structural behavior. However, there are ambiguities about the geometry of this architectural element that should be addressed with targeted research. One of these ambiguities is to determine how the geometry of different types of Karbandi is mapped; according to the available information, different types of Karbandi cannot be easily distinguished. The conventional and Stellar Karbandi are of the controversial issues in recognizing the geometry of Karbandi in Persian architecture. The present study aimed to identify and discover the geometric relationships in the conventional and Stellar Karbandi based on actual examples as well as study and analyze the geometric characteristics of different types of them. The necessity of the present study is to clarify how the geometry of different types of Karbandi is mapped to provide a comprehensive classification for it based on executed examples. The results of the present study showed that the difference between the two types of conventional and Stellar Karbandi is the connection distance between the points of division on the circle. It's easy to recognize this note in rectangular and squares bases; if the length of the rectangle or one of the sides of the square is in front of segments of the circle and the relation of equality is established between the number of segments of a circle in front of the length of the rectangle and the connection distance between the division points of the circle, the simple conventional Karbandi will be obtained. But, in non-rectangular base, firstly, the base must be divided into two or more identical intersecting rectangles, in this case, a length of one of these rectangles is considered as a criterion to recognize the type of Karbandi. If the relation of equality is established between the number of segments and the connection distance, extension conventional Karbandi will be obtained. If the relation of equality is not established, the obtained Karbandi is Stellar Karbandi. In this case, there are mathematically different scenarios that were examined. By examining the aforementioned cases, it has been proven that Tarkin vault is also of Stellar Karbandi. Therefore, another category called "Tarkin" was added to the other two categories of Stellar Karbandi, namely, "Discrete" and "Continuous".

Identity has become one of the most fundamental and important issues in people’s various areas of life in today's society, especially in countries like Iran has in the contemporary era. It seems that people who live in the modern society have multiple identities that should be recognized well. Identity of a place is one of the aspects understood as a way of communication between people and places through culture, history, collective memory, the type and nature of technology, performances, signs, forms and symbols of the city and visual and physical features. In this study, one of the categories of place identity, identity in the neighborhoods of Iran’s cities, was investigated. Existence of neighborhoods in the structure of historical cities in Iran, as a key element of the body of the city, balanced social life in cities. Neighborhoods as places of human life not only could affect the environment, but also improved the quality of social life. Hence, the aim of this study is to recognize the social variables affecting the identity of the neighborhoods of Islamic-Iranian’s cities. In this study both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. To do so, at first the concept of identity was identified through the studies of documents of experts’ ideas and social variables affecting identity were extracted. Then, the variables identified by questionnaires and random sampling among 100 residents of the neighborhood of Shanbedi in Bushehr were evaluated and reviewed. The results of the evaluation and analysis of factor analysis and Pearson correlation, which was used as a statistical method in this research, indicated that there is a strong, significant and meaningful relationship between the variables of sense of belonging, peace and image of identity and each of the factors with different effectiveness affects the idea of neighborhoods and peace had the strongest correlation with identity. Furthermore, the criterion of security is a variable which had a moderate and significant correlation with identity.

It is clear that each community should be have the specific urbanism science. Science localization is an obvious matter. This matter has motivated Iranian researchers, in urbanism field, to naturalize urbanism science having been imported to Iran. One method for producing or indigenizing urbanism texts in Iran, especially in recent years, is Utilization of Iranian-valuable texts. There are high valuable-native texts that could be reused for compilation new texts in urbanism field. So far, urbanism researchs have been done that inspired from Iranian-valuable text, such as "Nahj_al-Balagha", "Shahnameh of Ferdowsi", "Hafez's Divan", "Mosibatname of Attar", "Nasir Khusraw's Safarnama", "Haft-Peikar of Nezami" and "Ibn Kaldun's Moghadame", but none of these researchs were expressed a systematic method. However, this article suggests a specific method to use old texts for creating new urbanism texts. In other words, the main aim of this article is presented an efficient method for Using the Iranian's-Valuable Texts in order to compile new urbanism texts. In this article, "Islamic ethical texts" have been selected for better cognition of suggested method and as a case study too. Ethical texts don't directly mention about urban and urbanism, while explain the best ways of life and relationships in societies. Three questions are intended to be answered here, which are following bellow: 1. What is the proper method of using the Iranian's-Valuable Texts for writing the new urbanism texts? 2. How this method would be applied in different ethical texts? and finally, 3. which kind of urbanism texts would be written by this method? Therefore, it can be said that this paper is a methodology article.
The usage of primary text for creating new text is a theory that is called "Intertextuality". However, Intertextuality has not been used here. Because it is not coincident to Iranian culture. A native technique for doing this research is needed. Hence, after many researches among the Iranian techniques, the suitable technique has been found which had called the science of rhetoric (Balaghat) and the science of rhetorical embellishment (Badi). There were about sixteen literary techniques and figures of speech in Balaghat and Badi science. But only one of them, "Eghtebas" or "adaptation", has been selected as the chosen method in this article, as it has the most complete definition in compare to fifteen remained figures. furthermore, it has become quite operationally in other fields as literature and art. The first step in adaptation is selection of the original text. In this regard, it's necessary to consider somethings such as being valuable of the first text, similarity between the culture of the first text and the new one, timeless and placeless contents of the original text and finally, convertible subject of the original text to the second text. Texts with content of "Islamic ethics" have been selected as a subject of old-valuable text which have the whole of mentioned considerations.
In the theoretical part, two subjects are defined: The ethical texts and different types of Eghtebas. The ethics have an old and strong precedence in Iran's history. The goal of ethical texts is personality prosperity and after that social and urban prosperity. Four different Islamic ethical texts are introduced. These four types are based on four-different definition about ethics. They are included: 1-Mystisim ethics, 2-philosophy ethics, 3-narative ethics and 4- literary ethics. "Mysticism ethics texts" are based on "Intuition". "Philosophy ethical text" are base on "wisdom", "Narrative ethical text" are based on revelation and "literary ethical texts" are based on "expediency". Then, different kinds of Eghtebas are explained. In major division, Eghtebas has three different types; "dramatic changes", "moderate changes" and "no changes". In minor division of Eghtebas, "dramatic changes" are included: "Re-created", "Revision", "Using title" and "Amiq". Also "moderate changes" are included: "Re-writing", "Selective writing" and "Abridgment".

The results answer to three questions that previously mentioned.
-Firstly, four kinds of Eghtebas are explained in relation with four ethical texts by using the inference and logical reasoning method. The new texts of urbanism would be adopted base on the ethical texts. It seems that almost all species of the Eghtebas species are usable for the four types of ethical texts. Althoug, their relation has been shown with "suitable", "unsuitable" and "allowable" position. For every type of the ethical texts, there is a more appropriate Eghtebas that is included: "Re-created" for usage from "Mysticism ethics, "Revision" for "literary ethics", "Re-writing" for "Philosophy ethics" and "Selective writing" for "Narrative ethics".
-Secondly, the writer of urbanism text can extract word, meaning, subject, writing form and type of language from the original text and reuse them with three positions of "no changes", "dramatic changes" ("Re-created", "Revision", "Using title" and "Amiq") and "moderate changes" ("Re-writing", "Selective writing" and "Abridgment") in urbanism text.
-Finally, the new urbanism texts can have different topics such as theoretical and philosophical foundations, normative theories, qualitative features, utopia and urbanism history.

Urban renovation is a strategic issue in Iran urban development, and it is considered in many urban documents. The deteriorated areas of cities may cause to a variety of social and economic problems for their inhabitants. Living in such areas, may deprive residents from opportunities (such as access to educational space, access to health services, and sense of belonging to a good neighborhood), and so, distort their human dignity. For this reason, urban planners should try to define goals and strategies for renovating urban deteriorated areas. In Tehran, the comprehensive plan (approved in 2007) has identified strategies for the renovation of urban deteriorated areas. In terms of economics, the comprehensive plan of Tehran proposes a "No Cost" renovation strategy which means the renovation process should be realized with the municipal incomes from inside of deteriorated areas (without other incomes of municipality which are gained from rich areas of the city). Is such a strategy based on human dignity? This is the question of this research. In other words, is it consistent with the concept of human dignity to provide the budget required to support renovation in deteriorated areas through the taxes of from the place of renovation?
Since human dignity is a relatively complex concept, and there may not be a complete consensus on the definition and criteria for its measurements, this paper focuses on the views of one of the major thinkers in this area. Sayyid Musa al-Sadr can be a good reference for defining the concept of human dignity, because he has books, speeches and even certain social attempts to address the concept of human dignity. According to the humanitarian and Islamic context of his ideas, this paper, by explaining the views of Sayyid Musa al-Sadr, has tried to present a theoretical framework for measuring human dignity in urban development programs. Then, based on this framework, this article evaluates the economic strategy of Tehran's renovation. In order to evaluate the urban renewal strategy in Tehran's comprehensive plan, this research has conducted a semi-structured interview with two groups of experts: First, the experts of the Tehran Center for Urban Studies and Planning (as the conductor of Tehran Comprehensive Plan), and the second, the experts of the Tehran Renovation Organization (as the responsible organization for urban renewal). The interviews proceeded to a theoretical saturation (a total of 15 interviews).
Research findings show that human dignity can be measured by seven criteria: "maintaining and promoting unity in society", "creating opportunities for progress for all human beings", "considering people equal, except for superiority in piety, endeavor and science", "dealing with people's affairs", "responsiveness of all people to each other", "the responsibility of all citizens towards each other ","human freedoms" and "institutionalizing the empowerment of the disadvantaged". According to these criteria, this paper shows that the economic strategy of "No Cost Urban Renewal", which has been emphasized by the comprehensive plan of Tehran, cannot be based on human dignity.

The holy shrine of Razavi is among the most magnificent monuments with a treasure trove of calligraphy. Including these works, inscriptions and motifs of the stone floor of the entrance to the two domes of Hatam Khani and the Tohidkhaneh, which is visually effective in terms of quality. The purpose of this research is to identify and adapt the structure of the visual structure and the theme of inscriptions and Carved decorations in the plinth stones of the two porches. So, what is the visual and visual structure of the inscriptions on the walls of the hutmakhani and the Tohidkhaneh? And what is the content? Research methodology is descriptive-analytical and comparative and data collection, library and field photography. The findings show that the inscriptions are based on Qur'anic concepts and prayers with the Sols line, literary pieces on the line of Nastaliq, and with the themes of friendship and charity with Ahl al-Bayt and the status of God's forgiveness. The inscriptions are the Sols, Nastaliq and Naskh edition, which have a dynamic front by their circular shape and form. The use of these lines in the Sols and Nastaliq letter inscriptions relates to the calligraphy basics, which is coordinated with the visual capabilities of these two types of lines for easy visualization and readings. The inscriptions of the two porches were observed as scrolls, belts and textures, and the visual structure of the inscriptions was in geometric, ellipsoidal, circular, and square shapes, often with horizontal and vertical combinations, repeated with a visually repeating, intermittent, and Repeated with symmetry, intermittent and contradictory.arabesque and Khatai designs, as well as triangular next to the inscriptions, have been used to decorate and emphasize the text

The relation between texture, pattern and massing is a fundamental question in architecture. Classical architecture, as Leon Battista Alberti states in De Re Ae dificatoria, Book VI, Chapter 2, is developed through massing and structure first; texture is added afterwards to give the bold massing and structure beauty [Rietherand and Baerlecken, 2008: 2]. This hierarchy has of course been challenged throughout architecture history.

In the literature review, most researchers have done focus on pattern of Islamic ornamentation based on the interior vision and exterior pattern effect is not considering by researchers. This paper will provide a different thinking of the relationship of massing and texture in Persian Architecture based on tower temple in Khorasan that built in Qaznavi and Saljoughi era.
After that, we consider the role of the ornamental pattern on shaping building structure. Since this research were done based on mathematic and geometric systems, the main research way in this paper is logical deduction.

The Holy Quran, as the guiding book of mankind, contains a collection of divine verses in which there are innumerable truths and mysteries, and is the greatest manifestation of the emergence of a truth in the material body. So that the truth of heaven appears in the material form and the architecture of the garden. Contrary to the simple appearance of Persian garden, the structural and semantic complexities resulted from the combination of four elements in the Persian garden are in accordance with the Paradise; in fact, the influence of water element as the main existential factor in the pattern of Persian garden and its sanctity in Iranian thoughts are evident and more important. So that water is a vital element in preserving the dignity of heaven in the manifestation and appearance of it in the Persian garden. An interpretative research methodology is adopted in this study, which is based on the analysis of contents of Quran verses. This study seeks to find out the manifestation of the water elemente in the physical and functional system of the Persian garden with its image in the Paradise. A comparison of Persian garden and the Paradise from the perspective of Holy Quran and the interpretations of Al-Imran Surah show that the functional system of Persian garden corresponds with the names of the Paradise, which are proportional to its rank and place, and the element of water in the physical system of Persian garden corresponds to different faces of water in the functions of the Paradise
