Abstract

This study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature on social presence in order to identify significant research works, contribute valuable insights into emerging research areas, and provide an overview of global research trends. The study also aims to assist future researchers in locating relevant information aligned with their research interests. The research employs bibliometric analysis to examine 1962 journal articles published between 1958 and 2022, focusing on various aspects such as publication outputs, co-authorships among authors and affiliated countries, and co-occurrences of author keywords referenced in the Scopus database. Additionally, the study identifies the most active institutions, productive journals, and prolific authors in the field of social presence. Notably, the analysis reveals a consistent increase in cumulative publication numbers from 2014 to 2018, with an annual increment of 100 articles. More than 55% of the total publications originate from researchers based in China and the United States. Moreover, among the top 15 countries, four of their most prolific universities are ranked among the world's top 100 universities. The findings of the bibliometric study highlight that research on social presence predominantly focuses on captivating themes such as e-learning, social media, computer-mediated communication (CMC), and communities of inquiry (CoI). The primary objective of the study is to identify shifts in publication outputs, co-authorships, affiliated countries, and author keywords, thereby unveiling prevailing publication trends within the field of social presence. The scope of the study primarily centres on the identification of trends through bibliometric analysis. The study's findings indicate an upward trend in the publication of articles concerning social presence, which is expected to continue. Furthermore, co-authorship and co-occurrence investigations are undertaken to assess leading countries and frequently employed keywords in the literature.

Abstract

Over the years, the attention given to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability topics has received a lot of attention significantly and various new terms have been introduced. This result has sparked a wide-ranging and unspecified discussion, particularly in the fields of economics and business management. The presents of functional CSR and sustainability enable management to make better decisions for the benefit of the entire society.  As a result, understanding the topic of interest and broadening research collaboration are critical for advancing research development.  The purpose of this study is to identify global research trends in CSR and sustainability based on publication numbers, co-authorship, affiliated countries, and keyword co-occurrences. This study used RTools and Prisma for its analysis. The findings indicate a significant rise in the number of articles published in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainability since 2015. The USA contributed more than half of the publications, with Italy and Spain following closely behind.

Abstract

This study explores how aesthetics and ergonomics intersect in product design through a bibliometric analysis of 317 publications. Scopus was used as the data source, and VOSviewer and RStudio were used to draw a scientific knowledge map. Visual analysis was used to sort out the research lineage. The study found that the number of literature within the search scope is increasing, with countries like China and the United States at the forefront. Results show that China leads in research output but has relatively low international collaboration, while Europe and North America demonstrate stronger cross-country networks. The analysis of the keywords demonstrates that ergonomics-related terms are the dominant term in the literature. Aesthetics emerged as an increasingly important theme, yet it is presented as a less integrated area of inquiry. Thematic mapping indicated four important clusters in the literature: ergonomics and human factors, aesthetics and emotional design, technology/simulation tools, and sustainability and innovation. These findings indicate that ergonomics continues to provide the primary conceptual framework of the discipline, while aesthetics and sustainability represent emerging areas of inquiry. The current study contributes to the fields of design theory and practice with a conceptual framework that integrates ergonomics and aesthetics in design, and by outlining policy implications that could lead to collaboration, interdisciplinarity, and sustainable innovation.

Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to examine the intersection of sustainable logistics and supply chain resilience, aiming to uncover emerging trends, influential factors, and critical gaps in the literature. Using the Scopus database, 480 publications published between 2009 and 2024 were systematically analyzed through VOSviewer and Biblioshiny. The findings highlight six dominant themes—decarbonization, reverse logistics, optimization models, circular economy practices, digital transformation, and risk mitigation—that collectively position sustainability as a driver of resilience. The analysis focuses on sustainable logistics practices, including green logistics, circular economy principles, and reverse logistics, alongside digital transformation technologies such as IoT, blockchain, and predictive analytics, to assess their integration into resilience strategies. The analysis reveals a fragmented approach to integrating sustainability and resilience, with practices often treated in isolation. Results indicate that sustainable logistics practices enhance resource efficiency and adaptability but are constrained by the lack of holistic frameworks that integrate diverse sustainability practices with resilience strategies. While environmental dimensions and digital technologies are recognized as critical enablers, social and governance dimensions remain underexplored. Adoption disparities further hinder progress, particularly among SMEs, resource-constrained sectors, and underrepresented regions like Africa and South Asia. The study highlights opportunities to advance foundational theories, including Circular Economy Theory, Dynamic Capabilities Theory, and the LARG model, for aligning sustainability and resilience objectives. The study highlights the importance of developing unified, data-driven frameworks that incorporate ESG principles, sector-specific applications, and inclusive approaches to address geographic and financial disparities. Practically, integrating digital technologies with sustainable logistics practices can strengthen transparency, efficiency, and agility. Meanwhile, policy interventions, targeted incentives, and multi-stakeholder collaboration are essential to overcome implementation barriers and achieve operational sustainability and resilience integration.

Abstract

The imperative to align supply chains with sustainability objectives has intensified interest in the technological dimensions of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). To provide a systematic overview of how this research area has evolved, this study conducts a bibliometric analysis of publications from 2005 to 2025, drawing on data from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). The results demonstrate that technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and the Internet of Things have received the most attention, shaping the trajectory of SSCM research. Publication and citation trends show exponential growth after 2016, reflecting both global policy shifts and accelerated digital adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic. The United Kingdom and China lead in research output, while the United States demonstrates high citation impact. Several highly cited publications serve as intellectual anchors, shaping theoretical and methodological development. Keyword analysis and bibliographic coupling further reveal five dominant knowledge clusters: digital transformation for SSCM, life cycle thinking, policy in SSCM, blockchain for food sustainability, and sustainable product design. Overall, the study highlights technological trajectories, underexplored research areas, and regional disparities, providing theoretical and practical guidance for future interdisciplinary research, policy design, and technology adoption aimed at advancing sustainable and resilient supply chains.
