Study on multi-objective nonlinear programming in optimization of the rough interval constraints

This paper deals with multi- objective nonlinear programming problem having rough intervals in the constraints. The problem is approached by taking maximum value range and minimum value range inequalities as constraints conditions, reduces it into two classical multi-objective nonlinear programming problems, called lower and upper approximation problems. All of the lower and upper approximation problems may be solved using the weighting method, where an optimal rough interval solution is obtained. The stability set of the first kind corresponding to the optimal rough interval solution is determined. An illustrative numerical example is given to clarify the obtained results.

Exploring Biodynamic Response (Apparent Masses) of a Seated Human Body Exposed To External Excitation in Vertical Direction

In the present work, the biodynamic response behavior of seated human body subject to vibration in vertical direction have been extensively examined. The biodynamic response parameter of seated human body have been analyzed in terms of apparent masss (AM).The AM describe “to –the -body”force motion relationship at the interface of huma and seat. The present work proposed the six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) analytic biodynamic model of the seated human posture with the backrest in the vertical vibration direction to study the biodynamic response of various mass, stiffness and the damping coefficient. Field test were carried out using a TATA Nanocar to verify the vibrational comfort. The tests were carried out on different surface and the at different speed using Fast fourier transform (FFT) analyuzer. Acceleration were measured on both seat and head and the related calculation were done using MATLAB. This paper will help to analyze and provide the vibrational comfort to the car driver and the passangers on different road conditions.

Coordination of a Bi-Level Closed-Loop Supply Chain considering Economic and Green Transportation Modes

In recent years, comprehensive researches have provided ample support for the supply chains in the coordinated decision-making framework. However, the issue of closed-loop supply chain coordination considering various transportation modes has not yet been addressed in the literature. In this paper, a two-echelon closed-loop supply chain consisting of a manufacturer and a retailer is investigated in which the manufacturer acts as a Stackelberg leader and the retailer plays follower role. All transportation activities between the channel members are carried out via two transportation types including the economic and green modes. First, the proposed problem is examined under the decentralized and centralized settings. Then, a mathematical modeling is developed to coordinate the decisions related to retail price, collection effort, and ratio of transportation mode selection. Finally, some numerical examples are applied with the aim of analyzing the performance of decentralized, centralized, and coordinated decision-making structures. The results reveal that not only the Pareto optimal solution is achievable for both channel members but also the coordination scheme has sufficient efficiency to reach the best solution up to the centralized setting.

EQUILIBRIUM FOR PROCUREMENT STRATEGY BETWEEN TRIAD COMPETITIVE SUPPLY CHAINS

In today complex worldwide supply chains, intermediary organizations like Contract manufacturers and GPOs are mostly used. Well-known OEMs delegate their purchasing and procuring to these intermediaries. Because of their positive influence on supply chain efficiency, it is very important to investigate the role of intermediaries in today competitive supply chains. One important question arising about intermediaries is the conditions that the OEM controls his procurement or delegates this task to the intermediary organization?

To answer this question, this paper studies the equilibrium for component procurement strategies of two competing OEMs that produce substitutable products. Each OEM may either directly procure the input from the component supplier, or delegate the procurement task to the contract manufacturer. We analyze the OEMs’ procurement game under two contracting power schemes in such a supply chain: the supplier Stackelberg, where the component supplier acts as the Stackelberg leader, and the OEM Stackelberg, where the OEMs are the first movers.

We show that, the smaller OEM always prefers direct control of component procurement. This is because the OEM will receive a lower component price if the component supplier can price discriminate the OEMs. In contrast, the larger OEM’s preference depends on the contracting power scheme. Under the supplier Stackelberg, the larger OEM never prefers direct procurement; however, under the OEM Stackelberg, the larger OEM may have incentives to use direct procurement under reasonable conditions. This implies that a shift of the market power from the supplier to the OEMs may lead to more OEMs deviating from delegation to direct control.

Integrating Fuzzy Inference System, Image Processing and Quality Control to Detect Defects and Classify Quality Level of Copper Rods

Human-based quality control reduces the accuracy of this process. Also, the speed of decision making in some industries is very important. For removing these limitations in human-based quality control, in this paper, the design of an expert system for automatic and intelligent quality control is investigated. In fact, using an intelligent system, the accuracy in quality control is increased. It requires the knowledge of experts in quality control and design of expert systems based on the knowledge and information provided by human and equipment. For this purpose, Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and Image Processing approach are integrated. In this expert system, the input information is the images of the products and the results of processing on images for quality control are as output. At first, they may be noisy images; the pre-processing is done and then a fuzzy system is used to be processed. In this fuzzy system, according to the images, the rules are designed to extract the specific features that are required. At second, after the required attributes are extracted, the control chart is used in terms of quality. Furthermore, the empirical case study of copper rods industry is presented to show the abilities of the proposed approach.
A Two-Stage Chance-Constraint Stochastic Programming Model for Electricity Supply Chain Network Design

Development of every society is incumbent upon energy sector’s technological and economic effectiveness. The electricity industry is a growing and needs to have a better performance to effectively cover the demand. The industry requires a balance between cost and efficiency through careful design and planning. In this paper, a two-stage stochastic programming model is presented for the design of electricity supply chain networks. The proposed network consists of power stations, transmission lines, substations, and demand points. While minimizing costs and maximizing effectiveness of the grid, this paper seeks to determine time and location of establishing new facilities as well as capacity planning for facilities. We use chance constraint method to satisfy the uncertain demand with high probability. The proposed model is validated by a case study on Southern Khorasan Province’s power grid network, the computational results show that the reliability rate is a crucial factor which greatly effects costs and demand coverage.

MULTI-OBJECTIVE LOCATION-ROUTING MODEL WITH MULTIPLE TRANSPORTATION MODES FOR DESIGNING RELIEF NETWORKS UNDER UNCERTAINTY

Natural disasters and crisis are inevitable and each year impose destructive effects on human as injuries and damage to property. In natural disasters and after the outbreak of the crisis, demand for logistical goods and services increase. Effective distribution of emergency aid could have a significant role in minimizing the damage and fatal accident. In this study, a three-level relief chain including a number of suppliers in fixed locations, candidate distribution centers and affected areas at certain points are considered. For this purpose a mixed integer nonlinear programming model is proposed for open transportation location routing problem by considering split delivery of demand. In order to solve a realistic problem, foregoing parameters are considered as fuzzy in our proposed mode. The objectives of the proposed model include total cost minimization, minimization of the maximum travel time of
vehicles and minimization of unmet demands. In order to solve the problem of the proposed model, fuzzy multi-objective planning is used. For efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed model and solution approach, several numerical examples are studied. Computational results show the effectiveness and efficiency of the model and the proposed approach.

A Qualitative Research on Strategic Performance of Supply Chain- A Case study in Automotive Industry

Nowadays, automakers have faced complexity of supply chain that have to improve procedures and processes in order to access high performance in both strategic and operational. The main purpose of this research is to evaluate model of strategic performance of supply chain (SPSC), which include information technology (IT), organizational learning (OL), and Product innovation (PRI) via qualitative research. In fact, this research follows how these factors effect on SPSC. IRANKHODRO Company (IKCO) as the biggest automaker in Middle East is our case study in order to research and evaluate mentioned model. A total number of 12 interviews were done based on a list of semi-structured open-ended questions in order to evaluate constructs and model. The development of constructs in IKCO according to respondents’ opinion was classified at three categories including high, medium and low levels. In high level, IT has been developed in IKCO more than another constructs, which consists of development of ORACLE system, SAP and KANBAN in order to cover information, procedures and processes across supply chain. While SPSC has been developed less than others.
