The book "Designing Responsive City Centers: Applicable Urban Design Guidelines", authored by Dr. Mahshid Ghorbanian and Dr. Amir Shakibamanesh, was published by Springer in January 2025.
This book, the result of five years of dedicated research, provides a comprehensive guide to designing sustainable, dynamic, and responsive city centers. With 450 detailed urban design guidelines, the authors draw from field studies in 15 major European cities (Italy, France, Switzerland) and various urban contexts in Iran.

Dr. Mahshid Ghorbanian is an Urban Designer with more than 15 years of professional experience. She currently works as an assistant professor at the department of Landscape Architecture, Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran. She has already published a book entitled “Smart Growth and Sustainable Transport in Cities” in 2019 by Rutledge.
