 Secretary General of the D-8 Organization Met with IUST

 Iran University of Science and Technology officials met with Dr. Ali Mohammad Mousavi, head of Developing 8 (D-8) and Dr. E. Afshari, head of Multilateral Economic Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday July 7, 2013. The purpose of this visit was to discuss increasing scientific, research and technology cooperation among universities of the eight Islamic countries. IUST officials in this seating were Dr. Montazeri, research vice-chancellor, Dr. Mirza Mohammadi, finance vice-chancellor, Dr. Khorrami Shad, director to the office of international and scientific cooperation, Dr. Habib-Nejad and Dr. Esmaeel Zadeh, satellite research center directors.

 The D-8 is a group of developing countries with large Muslim populations that have formed an economic development alliance. The D-8 was founded in 1997 and consists of Bangladesh , Egypt , Indonesia , Iran , Malaysia , Nigeria , Pakistan , and Turkey .
