Second National Steel Bridge Competition The IUST Steel Bridge Team placed first at the 2012 National Steel Bridge Competition March 2, 2013—On February 23, 2013 the National Steel Bridge Competition took place at Tehran's Islamic Azad University. Twenty four teams, including IUST's Civil Engineering students, competed in fields including, 1-Stiffness, 2-Construction Economy, 3- Construction Speed, 4- Structural Efficiency, and 5- Architectural Excellence according to the Association of Steel Structures . IUST Civil Engineering students competed in the 2012 National Steel Bridge Competition and decisively earned two first and one second place awards. The IUST Steel Bridge team came home with three awards for their design and construction of their steel bridge project, "Science and Monotheism". They were awarded first place for Architecture and Structural Efficiency, and second place in Construction Speed. Members on the IUST Civil Engineering team supervised by Dr. Abbas Nia include, Engineer Parsa Gelokhani, Engineer Maryam Hossein-Ali, Engineer Hamid Bastani, Engineer Aref Zaki Alamdari, Engineer Saeed Alipour, Engineer Mir Saeed Aghapour, and Engineer Ashkan Foroutan. album |
