The First National Conference for Transport Infrastructures 

  February 18, 2013 – The first National Conference for Transport Infrastructures was held February 12-13, 2013 at the Iran University Science and Technology. Speakers at this conference discussed the different transportation projects underway. Dr. Mahmood Ameri, head of the transportation research center and conference coordinator gave a report on the papers admitted to this conference, and the ten workshops that will be held.

 Next, Dr. Mahmoud Saffarzadeh, chair to the School of Civil Engineering and Environment at the Tarbiat Modarres University, and head of the Parseh Transportation Research Institute, emphasized the necessity of providing the necessary infrastructure in transportation. He added, "Integration among ground, air, and water-based transport systems are essential for the country's growth."

 Engineer Mahmoud Rasouli Nejad, CEO of the country's airport companies, also spoke at this conference in a speech entitled, "Airports, the Country's Air Transportation Infrastructures." He stated that "airports are infrastructures to the nation's success, and they are responsible to provide services to the flights, designs, and air routes." Mr. Rasouli Nejad asserted that there are 54 active airports, 8 of which are international, 20 domestic and 26 frontier airlines.

 The conference ended with programs that rated and analyzed the country's transportation systems.
