A Two Day Conference with International University Officials Entitled, “Teaching Excellence in the Islamic World: Challenges and Opportunities”, Islamabad, Pakistan University officials including vice-chancellor Dr. Fathian, and head of the International Scientific Cooperation, Dr. Khorramishad participated in the two day conference “Teaching Excellence in the Islamic World: Challenges and Opportunities,” which was held on June 11th and 12th, 2012 in Islamabad, Pakistan. This event was hosted equally by the Comsats Institute of Information Technology and the Pakistan Higher Education and Technology Department. University officials of more than forty countries were present. A wide range of topics were discussed including sciences, technology, inventions, economical establishments, teaching excellence, and proper management in such institutions. Dr. Fathian was invited to moderate one of the seminars. Alongside the conference, talks were made between university officials. Upon its brief introduction, Iran University of Science and Technology urged the scientific cooperation and communication between foreign universities, especially Islamic universities, an invite that was received by a warm welcome. Of the other activities performed in this trip, it is worth noting the agreement signing with the Comsats Institute of Information Technology, meeting with the Pakistan president, and talks with Maghrib’s Dr. Abd al Aziz Al-Towjiri. Comsats is a semi national and international organization set in Pakistan, and was founded in 1994. Up to now this organization has 21 countries as its members. |
