Effect of sintering temperatur eanddwelltimeandpressingpressureon perovskite-typemembranes

Abstract
(designedasBSCF)oxidespreparedatdifferentshapingandsinteringparametersunderthesamepowdersynthesismethodwereexaminedintermsofmicrostructureanddiskdensities.Theoxidepowdersweresynthesizedusingcitrate–EDTAcomplexingmethod.Thesynthesizedpowderswerethenformedtodiskshapedmembranesatsinteringtemperaturesof1000,1050and1150�C,pressingpressuresof1000,2000and2500barandsinteringdwelltimesof2,6and10h,asthebestvaluestocovercommonusedrangesoftheparameters.X-raydiffraction(XRD)resultsofallsamplespreparedatdifferentconditionrevealedthatthebasicstructureofperovskitewasformed.Althoughthesamplespreparedatdifferentconditionshavenearlythesamemicrostructure,theydemonstrateddifferentrelativedensities,porositiesandgrainmorphologies.Themembranesynthesizedathighesttemperatureandpressureshowedthehighestrelativedensity,vigorousgrowthofcrystals,betterfusionofperovskitestructureandlessporenumbers.Theresultshowedthatthebestsinteringdwelltimeisabout8–9andafterthattimethereisnochangeinmembranecharacteristics.
