Introduction
L-lysine–HCl is a feed grad of L-lysine, an amino acid. Amino acids are essential for young bodies’ growth. They are not produced in the bodies so they should be fed into them. L-lysine is produced commercially by a microbial process utilizing a monoseptic culture of Corynebacterium Glutamicum [1]. Its concentration in fermentation broth is low. After fermentation, several separation processes are needed in order to achieve high concentration syrup of L-lysine– HCl. Separation, concentration and purification processes after production have the most influences on purity, quality and cost of the product. Recently membrane separation technology has emerged as a developing, simple, effective and low-cost tool for these purposes in many processes. After addition of hydrochloridric acid in production process, L-lysine form changes to L-Lysine–HCl [2]
