Established nearly eight decades ago, the s chool of chemical engineering has concentrated itself on academic objectives in general and on applied research to serve the local industry, in particular as a reliable center for research and education. The school intakes nearly 70 undergraduate students and 80 postgraduate students each year including approximately 5 Ph.D. students. The school enjoys the services of 20 faculty members of staff, and presently contains approximately 321 B.Sc., 228 M.Sc., and 43 Ph.D. students. The faculty members and students enjoy access to a library containing over 6000 printed and 1800 electronic books and subscriptions to over 80 national and international journals as well as a well-equipped computer center. This research oriented school is equipped with 12 laboratories, some of which are unique.
